Tried a chocolate beignet on the Biarritz seafront. A beignet is something like a donut dough baked as a bun, with a rich filling. Wow!

Had grilled fillet of Barbary duck this evening. Superb! Without raising ducks for foie gras, southwestern France could not offer this.
