Here it is, January 1, 2009. Another year has come and gone in the circle of life. I want to keep the good parts with me and learn from what went wrong too. Some time today, I’m going to sit down with a large piece of paper and draw a mind map of my personal inventory [...] At its simplest, life is the experience of exchanging energy with Gaia and its life forms. The hibiscus syriacus bush has been flowering since August 3 this summer. It has hundreds of buds waiting to bloom. Like the pictures? I’m moving into the next phase of my life, by deciding how I’m going to be in the present, rather than by wondering what I’m going to do in the future, “when I grow up.” You know how when you’re focused on something, like yellow volkswagens or crows or traffic jams, you seem to see them everywhere? Okay, well maybe there aren’t as many volkswagens around these days as there used to be. But you know what I mean. We see what we want to see. Talking about calendars, here’s a tip for managing e-mails that’s all about circles. You create 5 folders that you keep renaming and reusing.
